Composition Information:
- Musical scales: D Phrygian dominant, D Arabic (i.e. Phrygian dominant with raised 7th) and C natural minor
- Tempo: 130 BPM, with the intro for Part 1 starting at 110 BPM
- Despite the title, this music has nothing to do with techno music!
- The title refers to "music as the Egyptian folk musicians would have made it, if they were trying to make techno music" :-)
- The first ideas for this piece of music came when I discovered Natacha Atlas' music, in particular the pieces Amulet and Mish Fadilak, even though none of the musical themes of Egypt Techno are related to these pieces of music
- Most of the main themes were composed around Christmas in 2002/2003, when I lived in Greece and was also generally quite inspired by Greek music, mostly pop music composed by Phoebus (pronounced "Feevos"), e.g. the double album To Kati with Keti Garbi and the double album Geia + Ante Geia with Despina Vandi
